OOC PREFERENCES:
CONTACT METHOD: [plurk.com profile] draconic
THREAD-JACKING: Go for it!
FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: I'd rather not people mention him as being fictional, but canonmates are free to mention to stuff that happens after his canon point.
BACKTAGGING: Absolutely!
AVOIDED TOPICS: Nothing I can think of; if for whatever reason something comes up or starts squicking me real bad I'll mention it.
PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: She/her

IC CHARACTERISTICS:
CURRENT CANON POINT: EW 90 "You're Not Alone"
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Tall (6'8"), with pale silver hair and golden eyes that seem to almost glow. Clothes-wise, he has no particular preferences, but will likely default to darker colors simply out of habit, as well as long robes or coats (or both, where applicable)

His voice is light - more so than one might expect from a self-professed villain - and generally tends to the casual, with a tendency to turn mocking and overly dramatic (when he's playing up the hamminess), or to pick up a faint note of superiority (most other times). When he's angry, or otherwise genuinely emotional, however, his voice drops to a lower register and picks up an almost snarling quality not otherwise present in his voice. Voice clips here or here; the second clip continues minor location spoilers for Shadowbringers. As of his current canon point he is less inclined to slide into anger, but it's still very much not an impossibility, even now, and he is not particularly shy about making his feelings known.

DEMEANOR: In a word: animated. Even when he's not deliberately hamming things up, Emet is basically incapable of not being dramatic. Theatrical pronouncements, overly pointed hand gestures, and occasionally exaggerated displays of emotion are not uncommon, though he is also capable of holding a normal enough conversation. He is not however, particularly physically demonstrative; rarely getting close enough to anyone to so much as shake hands, much less anything more companionable.
ABILITIES: A full run-down of his (many) abilities can be found in his app, but for a brief rundown:
~Possessed of what canon refers to as "the Echo", which grants him the ability to understand all spoken languages as well to "transcend the bonds of flesh" - that is, to exist as a being of pure soul, as well as possess new host bodies and physically reshape them into his preferred appearance should he wish. (In game, his ability to possess people is unavailable to him.)
~A powerful sorcerer even by the standards of his fellow Ascians, capable of a wide variety of offense and defensive magical abilities (most of which are darkness based) as well as "creation magic" - the ability to essentially create something out of nothing - and illusionry.
~Has the ability to see both aether (the energy that is part of all living things) and souls, as well as into the Lifestream itself and - in some cases - pull living souls out of same.
~Is an excellent long-term planner and schemer as well as a brilliant military tactician.
~Makes something of a hobby of building empires, to the point that he's mentioned himself to be have had a hand in more than one of the empires that existed in his world's history, and is likewise responsible for the genesis of the current empire. He also spent some 60 years as the emperor of the most recent one, so it can be assumed he knows a thing or two about actually ruling a (heavily militaristic, in this case) empire besides.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: He might be a little more hardy than most people, but otherwise pretty normal apart from that.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Now that he's had some time to chill, there's not going to be too many, but he's liable to be grumpy simply as a general rule.

IC PERMISSIONS:
MENTAL: Yep! Mind-control is likely going to be a bit tricky - he's been in thrall to another entity before so he knows a little of what it might feel like - but anything else is fair game! For telepathy/empathy, shoot me a line somewhere and I can let you know what he's got going on in there.
MIMICRY: Sure! Depending on how it's presented he might be a little miffed at it, though.
VIOLENCE: Absolutely!
MAGIC: Yes, though he might defend himself magically if he spots it coming.
DEBATE: Please do.
OTHER / NOTES: While not all of it's something he talks about, Emet has spent the majority of his millennia-long life living with unaddressed grief/guilt over the loss of his people, as well as bone deep weariness that ran very close to Actual Depression (assuming he was not genuinely depressed, and simply refusing to address it). As of his current canonpoint, these have not been resolved, though his death and the end of his long duty has lessened the immediacy of them. Any significant discussion of his backstory is also likely to touch on a variety of world-ending calamities, some of which he has caused, and he has spent multiple millennia being at least partially enthralled by a god-like entity. If any of these are things you don't want to deal with, let me know and I will see about steering clear of them.
