Despite the variety in his icons, will always be in his original appearance! ie: tall, with silver hair and yellow-gold eyes that also glow. At least to start with, he will also be in black robes with a distinct mask hanging at his chest.
Over on the supernatural side, Emet-Selch is an absolutely preposterously powerful sorcerer, is old as hell, and has something of a connection to the Lifestream/Underworld/Aetherial Sea (in that part of his job was overseeing it/the souls therein). He is also capable of seeing people's souls, for which I have a permissions post over here!
